Dear Residents and Families,

Since our last communication, we have taken the proactive step to test all residents in Memory Care, regardless if they were displaying signs and symptoms of COVID-19.  Due to the difficulty of maintaining social distancing and use of masks by our residents with a dementia diagnosis, we are aware of the threat of viral spread in the unit.  As a result of this testing, we have learned we now have a total of 8 individuals that are positive for COVID-19 in Memory Care. Dear Residents and Families,

Sherwood Village is committed to keeping you updated about our response to COVID-19. We’re providing this update to describe our practices relating to COVID-positive residents.

As I am sure many of you are aware, Arizona is experiencing an increase in the reported COVID cases.  We have just learned that one of our residents has tested positive for COVID.

We are in close contact with the state health department concerning this resident and are following their guidance. This resident has been isolated from other residents, and the clinicians and other staff assigned to care for the resident will be using heighted infection control measures before, after and during care and, regardless, will limit their exposure to other residents as much as possible. No equipment or supplies are shared between providers caring for a positive resident with other staff. Read more
