As promised, we wanted to provide you an update for Sherwood Village in relation to the current COVID-19 pandemic. Since our last communication a few days ago, we have had a second resident who has tested positive for the virus. This resident is currently receiving treatment outside of the facility. We will continue to contact families if there is any change in the health condition of their loved one, whether COVID related or not.
Sherwood Village is committed to keeping you updated about our response to COVID-19. As I am sure many of you are aware, Arizona is experiencing an increase in the reported COVID cases. We have just learned that one of our residents has tested positive for COVID. We are in close contact with the state health department concerning this resident and are following their guidance. This resident has been isolated from other residents, and the clinicians and other staff assigned to care for the resident will be using heighted infection control measures before, after and during care and, regardless, will limit their exposure to other residents as much as possible. No equipment or supplies are shared between providers caring for a positive resident with other staff.
In accordance with the recent guidance provided by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, we are limiting all visitation until further notice.
