We wanted to provide you an update since our last communication on July 21, as we stated in our previous communication, we had taken the proactive step to test all of our residents. To date, out of almost 150 residents, we now have only eleven individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19 with still only two of those that need care outside of our community. We still have nine pending tests.
Since our last communication, we have now taken the proactive step to test the remainder of our residents, regardless if they were displaying signs and symptoms of COVID-19. As of right now we have 15 positive cases. Out of the 15 positive, 7 are currently showing no signs or symptoms of the virus. We would continue to ask you to assist us in encouraging assisted living residents to stay in the community and when outside of their rooms, to wear masks, practice good social distancing and frequently wash/sanitize their hands.
Since our last communication, we have taken the proactive step to test all residents in Memory Care, regardless if they were displaying signs and symptoms of COVID-19. Due to the difficulty of maintaining social distancing and use of masks by our residents with a dementia diagnosis, we are aware of the threat of viral spread in the unit. As a result of this testing, we have learned we now have a total of 8 individuals that are positive for COVID-19 in Memory Care.
