COVID-19 Update

Dear Residents and Families:

 

With this new surge in positive COVID cases in the state and the country in general, we continue to perform weekly testing on our staff and bi-weekly testing on our residents.

In our latest round of testing, we had one resident test positive and four employees (all of who do not provide direct care to residents) test positive.

As always, the positive employees are quarantining at home and return to work dates will be determined following local health department and CDC guidance.  The positive resident is currently receiving treatment off-site, but should they return, the resident would be isolated and heightened infection control procedures will be used for cares.

Given the surge in COVID cases, we will continue to not have communal dining.  Outdoor visitation will continue, but any inside visitation will require a negative COVID test as outlined in our earlier communications.

We encourage residents (and urge families to encourage residents) to take all precautions to prevent or mitigate the spread of the virus by:

  • Wearing masks when outside of their apartments;
  • Engaging in good hand hygiene; and
  • Practicing social distancing when outside of their apartments.

We will continue to assess all residents for any signs and symptoms of the COVID-virus and will notify resident physicians and responsible parties on any changes of condition, whether COVID related or not.

We will provide updates with the results of our regular COVID screenings or any other changes in our Community related to COVID.  Our next round of testing for employees is this week and resident testing will take place next week.  If signs and symptoms of the virus are noted at any time, the employee or resident will be tested immediately.
